Mediation & Arbitration

In some cases, alternative dispute resolution can be an efficient method for resolving a conflict.  The Ternan Law Firm, PLLC is available to represent clients in meditation and arbitration and can provide an commercial litigation attorney to serve as a mediator and arbitrator with the consent of disputing parties. Additionally, Jack Ternan is eligible to serve as a court appointed mediator pursuant to Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code Section 154.052(a).

Typically, the Firm's representation of a client as an advocate in mediation and arbitration is charged on an hourly or fixed fee basis.  When engaged to provide a mediator, the Firm typically charges $900 per party for a half-day mediation and $1,800 per party for a full day mediation.  Half day mediations are often from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.  Full day mediations typically conclude at 5:30 p.m.  For mediations that last longer than the scheduled time, additional fees are charged at the mediator's hourly rate.  When engaged to provide an arbitrator, the Firm typically charges $5,000 per hearing day, divided evenly between the parties.  The Firm also charges for any expenses incurred in connection with mediations and arbitrations.
